Connectors

Overview

This topic provides information about using Jitterbit Harmony Cloud Studio to connect to various data resources. These include Jitterbit Custom APIs, standards-based resources (Local Storage, Temporary Storage, Variables, File Share, FTP, Database, HTTP, SOAP) and application-specific resources (NetSuite, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, etc.).

Connecting to these data resources is done through the configuration of Jitterbit Harmony connectors, which provide the interface for creating an authenticated connection to a data resource outside of Jitterbit Harmony.

In Cloud Studio, connectors are first configured to create connections. Activities associated with connections are then added to operations on the design canvas and configured as a source to provide data to an operation or as a target to consume data in an operation. Together, a specific connection and its activities are referred to as an endpoint.

Before you get started, refer to these pages for connector basics and classifications:

  • Connector Basics: Terminology and definitions of connectivity resources, how to add an activity to an operation, and various actions that are available on all activities.
  • Connector Classifications: Classifications of connectors by use: API, short-term storage, long-term storage, service-based, or application. Connectors can also be differentiated by whether they use a server-based or file-based schema.
